Four Philadelphia police officers recently removed from an elite drug unit are facing civil charges filed by men and women who claim that they were framed and abused by the officers.
In early December the four officers were reassigned, and the District Attorney made the decision to refuse to call the officers as witnesses in criminal cases. This decision affected at least 260 cases that involved the officers, causing all charges to be dropped.
In reaction to these events, several affected citizens have decided to file civil suits against the officers, claiming that they were framed and abused. Krasner, Hughes, & Long will be representing some of these plaintiffs throughout the suit.
